Accessibility Statement for the Online Courses learning environment of the University of Jyväskylä

This Accessibility Statement concerns the JYU Online Courses service, and it was created/updated on 18 August 2022. The service is subject to the Act on the Provision of Digital Services, according to which public online services must be accessible. 

We have conducted a self-assessment on the accessibility of the service.

In the heading styles, progressing from the H1 level to the H3 level without an intermediate H2 level heading. Correspondingly, progressing from the H2 heading level to the H4 level without an intermediate H3 level.

  • The alternative text of the link corresponds to the text content.

Non-accessible content and its shortcomings 

The website includes parts where the alternative text is the same as the text indicated by the link. For example, at the bottom the text “University of Jyväskylä”, which takes you to JYU website, and when navigating the tabs, the name of the tab in question is a link name.

We are continuously working to improve accessibility and we are committed to improving the accessibility of digital services 

Teachers are mainly responsible for producing content for the service. We support them by organising workshops and an online course on how to create accessible learning materials and content.
