When we look closely at global flows of materials, energy, land, and labour, it becomes clear that the global economic system is not fair. It has been shaped by powerful elites through patterns of extraction and dominance, where wealth accumulates in a few regions while social and ecological costs are carried elsewhere.

Although colonialism has changed its form, its logic still lives on in global trade. If we are to truly care for Earth as our shared home, we are being called to outgrow these old patterns and move toward systems rooted in reciprocity, responsibility, and collective wellbeing.
