If you have not yet registered, register for the course using the info bar on the right-hand side of the course page (indicated by the small arrow on the grey background). Only those who have registered will be able to complete the assignments and take the course.
The course is divided into sections, which can be found in the above tabs. You can navigate the course area by either using the tabs at the top of the page or the menu on the left.
The course is mainly composed of text sections. There are a few videos in the course. All course materials can be found in the course area. Each section has an activity related to the course: an online chat with student colleagues (only one compulsory chat on the course) or a Test Your Competence multiple-choice exam. The last section also includes a self-assessment -task. All these tasks and activities are compulsory and have to be completed and passed.
The sections also include voluntary discussion areas (comment chats) that you can choose to participate in. It is mentioned separately, if a task is voluntary.
You can explore the content in the course area before the registration. If you want to see the tasks and complete the course, you need to register and sign up for the course. If you have a Finnish bank ID, you can register as a student and sign up for the course by clicking the link on the right menu bar (or here). If you do not have a Finnish bank ID, registration requires a valid passport or an EU identity card, register via this link to registration.
Course assessment
The assessment of the course takes place automatically. You will get the exam results as soon as you have completed an exam. You can try the exam again if you did not pass the first time. However, there is a two-hour delay between the retake and the previous attempt. So you can try again in two hours. You'll have time to refresh your memory before the retake.
The course is assessed on a pass/fail scale. All compulsory assignments must be passed in order to pass the course. A minimum of 9 points (75% of the marks) is required for a pass in each section exam, with a maximum of 12 points for each exam.
A maximum of 48 points can be awarded for the course. The course is passed when the total number of marks for the exams is at least 75% of the total points.
Take each Test Your Competence Exam after studying the section. There are a total of 4 exams (at the end of all sections). Proceed in order, as you cannot take the next exam if the previous exam has not been passed.
There is also a compulsory "discussion task" in the section 4.
At the end of the course, you are required to carry out a self-assessment ("Closing" section). It is possible to do the self-assessment only after you have passed all the previous tasks (discussions and exams). The date when you turn in the self-assessment will be the date of completing the course. It may take a few days for the course grades to be registered.
Certificate
Once you have completed the course, you can download the transcript of records from Sisu as a certificate according to the instructions on the Closing section.
