Section outline

    • This section looks at the well-being of both nature and human beings as a regional issue. What kinds of regional differences are there in, for example, birth rates and economic development?

This section consists of three sub-sections 3.1. - 3.3., and all material is divided on their own pages.

In this section there is a compulsory interactive discussion task, found on its own tab.

Finally, you will test your competence with the exam in Test your competence 3.

    • Discussion task

    • COMPULSORY Discussion task Keskustelualue

After studying the whole section three:

      • Write concisely (in about 100-300 words) your own views on how you think global environmental pressures should be reduced. Take into account the different starting points of regions in terms of population, wealth and technology. Also consider that due to international trade, environmental pressures and commodity consumption do not necessarily occur in the same region. Consider also the problems that may arise in implementing different policies. Give your text a title that describes the content and add your views to the discussion area for a new debate.

      • Contribute to the discussion by adding a new perspective to at least one other post or thread. The purpose of contributing is to increase interaction and improve learning. Please remember to keep your comments appropriate and constructive.

This discussion task is compulsory for passing the course. The task will automatically be marked as completed once you've started one discussion and participated in at least one other discussion.

    • Test your competence 3

Finally, after studying this third section you can test your competence with the exam. The exam is below.

You can take this exam if you have already passed the exam of the second section of the course.

Again, the statements in the exam are either true or false. Which one is the right answer?

Just answer the questions, and after you have finished your exam and completed it you will get your test result. You need 9 out of 12 questions to be right to pass the exam. You will get the results and feedback right after finishing the exam.

You will be able to try again until you pass the exam. However, there is a two-hour delay between the retake and the previous attempt.
